Day 01 Arrive in Adelaide
Arrive in Adelaide and explore the city on foot. If it's a market day, visit Adelaide Central Market (open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays), which is the largest food and produce market in Southern Hemisphere, or take a behind-the-scenes tour at Haigh's Chocolates Visitors Centre (11am, 1pm & 2pm). If time permits, find out more about the Aboriginal culture by joining a Bush Food Trail tour and enjoy Bush Tucker in the city.
Stroll through the Rundle Mall shopping precinct for both department store and boutique shopping. This evening, dine along any number of Adelaide's 'eat streets', such as Gouger Street, Rundle Street and Hutt Street in the city, and O'Connell Street and Melbourne Street in nearby North Adelaide.
Day 02

Travel to Adelaide Hills, just 20 minutes from Adelaide and visit Mount Lofty Summit for stunning panoramic views of the city centre and surrounding areas. Then head to Cleland Wildlife Park for an up close experience with Australian native animals where you can hand-feed kangaroos and hold a koala. Next, travel onto the historic Germanic village of Hahndorf and spend time exploring its heart and laneways. Enjoy a divine German meal in one of the many cosy cafés. On the main street visit Udder Delights for local cheeses, The Olive Grove and Taste in Hahndorf - home to an array of local products, including German-style small goods, fruits, cheeses and confectionery. Sample some cool-climate wines at one of the cellar doors, such as Lloyd Brothers Wine, Hahndorf Hill Winery, Nepenthe Wines and Shaw & Smith Wines.
At Beerenberg Strawberry Farm, you can pick your own strawberries (seasonal - between November and May) and shop for its complete range of jams and products. Continue to Gumeracha, home to the world's biggest Big Rocking Horse. Climb up to the top of the 18-metre tall horse for a panoramic view or wander through the Toy Factory adjacent to it to see Australia's largest range of quality wooden toys. Later this evening, dine at the Stirling Hotel in Adelaide Hills that produces innovative dishes before returning to Adelaide.
Day 03

McLaren Vale to Victor Harbour Distance: 43km, Approx. Travel Time: 45MIN
The Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide encompasses spectacular beaches, rolling hinterland and famous wine country. Enjoy wine tasting in the renowned McLaren Vale wine region and with over 60 cellar doors to explore, there is no shortage of places to stop. Some of the most popular wineries include Wirra Wirra, Coriole, d'Arenberg, Penny's Hill and Chain of Ponds. Visit the Almond Train for almonds of every flavour and Medlow Confectionery for something sweet. If time permits, discover the fine mix of food and art at Red Poles, and an opportunity to tap into your artistic side by creating your own masterpiece at its regular workshops.
Continue on to Victor Harbour and travel on Australia's oldest horse-drawn tram along the causeway to Granite Island. Visit the penguin centre and at dusk join a guided tour to see these little penguins returning to their burrows after a day's fishing. During June to September, Southern Right Whales can also be spotted close to shore along Victor Harbour.
Day 04 Victor Harbour to Goolwa

If it's a cruise day, continue along the southern coast, exploring Goolwa. Spend the day discovering The Coorong and the Murray Mouth, where Australia's greatest river meets the might of the Southern Ocean. Cruises into Coorong National Park depart from Goolwa and introduce visitors to the very narrow stretch of lagoons, Aboriginal history, wetlands and sand dunes that provide one of the most important waterbird habitat in Australia (Coorong Discovery Cruise: 12noon to 4.30pm, operates on Mondays and Thursdays all year; Tuesdays and Saturdays in October to May).
Alternatively, drive along the Fleurieu Way. This 235-kilometre touring route weaves around stunning Fleurieu Peninsula and includes many great sights and activities with good coastal dining options, such as Star of Greece at Port Willunga, Flying Fish Café at Port Elliot and more. Some of the highlights in the Fleurieu Way include a 30-minute coastal ride on the Cockle Train that travels along the oldest steel railway in Australia (every Sunday). Take in the sights at Myponga Reservoir Lookout where it offers sweeping views across the water and of the surrounding pine forest and allows you to drive across the reservoir wall. At nearby Aldinga and Sellicks Beach, you can even drive your car onto the beach for a great adventure.
Day 05

Take a scenic drive from Victor Harbour to Cape Jervis and board SeaLink vehicle and passenger ferry for a 45-minute crossing to Kangaroo Island. You can bring your vehicle* from the mainland by ferry or you can hire a vehicle in Kingscote, Penneshaw or at the airport. Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia and seven times the size of Singapore. (*please check with your car hire company's policy about driving on Kangaroo Island)
Once you have landed at Penneshaw, drive to Seal Bay Conservation Park on the southern coast. Here, join a guided tour on the beach and have an experience of a lifetime walking among a breeding colony of Australian Sea Lions. Head to Little Sahara, an area of spectacular white sand dunes, surrounded by bush vegetation. Take your sandboard and climb to the top of the razorback ridges and enjoy a thrilling ride to the bottom (sandboards and toboggans are available for hire from Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action at Vivonne Bay).
Next, visit the dramatic coastal formations of Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch in Flinders Chase National Park. Remarkable Rocks provides a spectacular backdrop for photographers and Admiral's Arch boardwalk leads to a rugged cliff face to confront a spectacular rock arch and a nursery haven for New Zealand Fur Seals.

Day 06 Rocky River to Kingscote

This morning, drive through the centre of the island. Don't miss sampling the unique gastronomic experience at Andermel Marron and Two Wheeler Creek Wines. Visitors can take a tour of the modern fish farm and select a marron of their choice to be cooked by the café’s talented gourmet chef. Complete the meal with a fine wine, are made from grapes grown on the farm's vineyard.
Next, join a one-hour, half or full-day excursion from Kingscote with Kangaroo Island Marine Tours. Go snorkelling with seals, sea lions and dolphins. Soak up the fun and meet the marine life on the comfortable, purpose-built craft. Should time permit, view the pelican feeding at the Kingscote Wharf where 'The Pelican Man' gives a lively informative talk while feeding the birds at 5pm daily.
Day 07

This morning, visit Island Pure Sheep Dairy - South Australia's first sheep dairy and cheese factory. Opened in 1992, it has become well-known for its range of high quality Mediterranean-style cheeses and yoghurt. Then, visit Kangaroo Island Spirits - South Australia's first and boutique distillery. All products are hand-made in small batches using hand crafted copper pot stills. The range includes a honey and walnut liqueur, anisette, and a strawberry and vanilla liqueur. Head back to Penneshaw, take a detour before the return ferry journey back to Adelaide with stops at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery - South Australia's only working eucalyptus distillery and Clifford's Honey Farm - discover the unique Ligurian bee, taste several flavours of pure Ligurian honey or try its famous honey ice-cream.
Day 08 Adelaide to Glenelg
Distance: 12km, Approx. Travel Time: 20MIN
Take a walk along North Terrace, which is also known as the cultural boulevard and explore the Art Gallery of South Australia and the South Australian Museum. Alternatively, take the tram and head down to Adelaide's favourite seaside suburb, Glenelg. Walk along the Esplanade, explore the shops of Jetty Road, stop for a coffee break at the beachside hotels or Holdfast Shores Marina Complex where there are a variety of cafes and restaurants. Take a high speed ride with Hel-a-va Jet Boats or visit Rodney Fox Shark Experience - a unique Shark Museum, swim with wild dolphins with Temptation Sailing (early morning only) and visit the Beachouse entertainment complex complete with waterslide.
